The Construction Coach Now…

Like most people do, at the age of 50 Mike began contemplating how he wanted to spend the rest of his career. After a great deal of soul searching he came to realize that even though he truly enjoyed what he was doing, and the company he spent almost thirty years doing it for, he felt he had more to contribute. Throughout his reflection, he spent many hours replaying the highlight reel of his career. It did not take him long to figure out that the most amazing moments came from synergizing with others to help them realize their dreams. When thinking about all of the projects he worked on and all of the clients he worked with he could not help but think about all of the excitement he shared with them and how full his heart became as they saw their dream spaces become reality, whether it was adding an apartment to their home so they could help pay for their child’s education, putting a second floor on a home overlooking a beautiful waterway to take advantage of a breathtaking view or building their dream home from the ground up.

In his continual quest to help others, Mike started to think about how he could teach a whole group of people to plan out their dreams. From that thought came Mike’s first course: Secrets to A Successful Reno / New Build. As its title eludes, this is a course that teaches its students all kinds of tips and tricks on how to successfully plan, design and execute the renovation or new build of their dreams. While delivering this course Mike was asked over and over about his rental properties. There was so much demand for information on his rental properties that Mike created a second course: Secrets to Buying, Renovating and Managing Rental Properties.

Much of the content for both of these courses comes from a book Mike has been working on for approximately 25 years in which he talks about all of the different real estate and construction mishaps he’s been through as well as the ideas he’s had that have been very successful. It is sort of a compilation of the good, the bad and the ugly of his experiences in the construction and real estate investing industries. His motivation behind the book is his desire to teach others how to avoid the costly mistakes he’s made in the past and to help them save tens of thousands of dollars. To make sure his book and courses contain everything that readers/students would want to know Mike has worked with a group of college students to do a study to determine exactly what his readers might want to learn about.

Ignited by Mike’s passion for construction and real estate investing and fuelled by his heartfelt desire to help others build their dreams, The Construction Coach was born.

theconstructioncoach.ca was created so that Mike can connect with more people and help them to achieve their dreams, be it by renovating / building their dream spaces or building their own rental property portfolio. This web site is designed to be helpful for any project no matter the size or budget. The construction and renovating tips you will find here are suitable for home owners and real estate investors alike.

He has a natural gift for mentoring other real estate investors, entrepreneurs and aspiring construction gurus. As a construction coach, he has guided entrepreneurs through the complicated maze of real estate investment and purchasing properties. He has shown homeowners how to successfully create and deploy plans for a renovation or new build.

Now semi-retired at the age of 53 Mike lives in beautiful Bay of Quinte with his amazing wife and their son. His goal is easily summed up in these ten words…” I help passionate people build their dreams through real estate.”
